Getting out of the house and New Year's Eve plans

It has been so nice the past few days to get out of the house after being stuck at home with a ton of snow everywhere! It's also been in the low 40's so I'm not freezing every second of the day. (I think my new slippers have something to do with that too. Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Yesterday, the Barnes came over and the kids played for a while. Then we headed off to Tom's restaurant for a great meal. It was so nice to spend time with them. It was hard to say good-bye. For some reason, we forgot to take pictures . . .

Today, we ran some errands . . . nothing exciting, but at least we were out of the house a little. The sun was out for a while today, so Sage drove her car around the back yard. She was so funny. She loved putting things in the trunk, parking the car, doing some activity and then driving somewhere new. Tomorrow we'll have to drive again when Tom's home and maybe Molly can be a passenger. :)

Thanks to Aunt Patti and Uncle Chuck, Tom and I are going on a date tomorrow afternoon. YEA!!!! Then in the evening, we will of course have way too much yummy food (a Small family tradition on New Year's Eve) and probably fall asleep before midnight. Last year, Autumn was the only one who stayed awake the whole time . . . maybe we should have her call us just before midnight. I think we are going to celebrate New York's new year at 9 p.m. with Sage so she can be part of that. She'll never make it until midnight. We'll take pictures and post them next year. :)
